TRX delivers technology applications in an on-demand environment to travel agencies, corporations, travel suppliers, government agencies, credit card associations, credit card issuing banks, and third-party administrators. TRX sought a technology innovation partner to assist in the development of a new travel and expense reporting solution to address two opportunities in the corporate travel market:

  1. To empower the corporate travel manager to aggregate, manage and understand the collective travel activity/spend across their entire organization; and
  2. To provide the corporate business traveler with an online environment to book air/car/hotel components, manage their profile and adhere to their organization’s travel policies.

Enablus assisted TRX by leading a hybrid development team of TRX and Enablus designers and developers to build the new reporting solution, TRAVELTRAX. The team worked under a compressed timeframe to deliver a beta release in 4 months. TRAVELTRAX was pilot launched on February 21, 2007 and went into General Availability on June 27, 2007. Since then, nine organizations have signed agreements to use TRAVELTRAX. Two of these agreements are with Orbitz and Mastercard International, who desire to resell a private-label version of TRAVELTRAX to their corporate customer base.

Even if you expect a refund, most people dread the thought of filing their taxes. But what if a company devised a way to give you a “bonus” on top of your tax refund if you used their tax preparation software? That is exactly what Intuit did by developing a TurboTax product extension called the Refund Bonus Program. The goal was to provide TurboTax users the ability to purchase discounted gift cards with their tax refund dollars, thereby increasing the value of their return by 10-50%. Enablus was tasked with four primary objectives:

  • Direct the technology development and system integration, while also program manage the operations/fulfillment components which included installation of custom-built collation & insertion machinery, and build-out of a secured production facility at Intuit’s fulfillment partner, Cenveo.
  • Perform complex systems integration to manage product & customer data feeds from Intuit, retail partners, FedEx, & Cenveo’s SAP system
  • Build a web portal for Intuit’s Customer Service Representatives and a direct email interface to SilverPop to provide email communication to the TurboTax users.
  • Harden all systems, processes, and facilities to adhere to rigorous Level-Two security standards established by Intuit and American Express, a key partner.

The Enablus team assisted Intuit every step of the way before, during and after the launch. We constructed a technology solution to receive the customer orders from Intuit, process the orders through the fulfillment process, interface with FedEx to assign package tracking numbers, capture gift card serial number’s, activate all cards, and build a customer service portal. The end result was the delivery of $40 Million in gift cards delivered to TurboTax customers in Year One.

For the past 2.5 years, Microsoft Consulting Services has partnered with Enablus to deliver solution implementations for two of their premier clients.

Our consultants went on-site (Texas, North Carolina and Florida) to assist with the aggressive rollout of a critical software upgrade for a key media and entertainment client in the Southeast.

More recently, Enablus was asked to assist in the architecture, development and quality assurance for a cutting-edge retail kiosk solution that was the one of the first commercial deployments of the Microsoft Surface touchscreen technology.

OfficeArrow is an online media company that provides a social networking website to the target niche market of office professionals - office managers, executive assistants and other office professionals:

OfficeArrow sought a partner that could assist them to clearly understand the target audience’s need and then build a compelling user experience for that audience. Enablus began by participating in several focus groups to understand the key goals and ambitions of the target audience. Next, the Enablus UX team synthesized the audience into primary and secondary personas, which allowed the OfficeArrow product team to focus their development roadmap on features that truly mattered. Wireframes and visual comps followed shortly afterwards.

We were three months into the project with a different firm we weren't pleased with, with no end in sight. Enablus "rescued" us by helping us understand our users, laid out a roadmap and took over development. The site was live 90 days later and after 12 months we obtained 125,000 users. Wow! MDdatacor’s web-based solution combines patient medical records from disparate data sources such as electronic medical records, transcribed office notes and lab results received directly from the treating physicians with the claims and pharmacy data received from the health insurers into a searchable database. This information is analyzed and used in support of pay-for-performance, physician-centric disease management, and portable electronic health record programs.

MDdatacor partnered with Enablus during a high growth phase to extend its technology team to accomplish several critical product development milestones. The Enablus team delivered on stated objectives helping MDdatacor in meeting tight customer timelines.

The world of retail banking and payments processing has undergone vast changes in the past decade which have generated multiple market opportunities as more consumers embrace online banking and e-commerce. CheckFree (now a part of FiSERV) wished to capitalize on one of these opportunities by spinning off its Retail Payments business unit into a stand alone entity called Moneta. The goal of Moneta is to provide consumers and retailers a online payment alternative that is more cost effective and more secure than traditional credit cards.

Enablus was brought very early into the divestiture process by working with VCs to perform the technical due diligence, assist with the financial modeling, and create the pitch deck. Enablus also served as an advisor during the initial fundraise, conveying key aspects of the business model and product roadmap with potential investors and partners.

Once the initial funding round concluded, Enablus led a technical delivery team to extract the Retail Payments platform from CheckFree and establish this platform at a separate data center. Additional application development occurred to create an Adobe Flex-based retailer’s console and a consumer web portal to allow for enrollment.
